Sarah* is a summer student at Lenczner Slaght. Sarah’s previous work as a musician ensures she excels under pressure and cuts through§ complexity. Her analytical and creative approach is reflected in her research on personal property securities, bankruptcy and insolvency, and alternative dispute resolution. Regardless of the intricacy of the challenge, Sarah filters out the noise to get to the heart of the matter. She has worked to resolve complex commercial, labour, and sports disputes as a case manager for the Sport Solution Clinic and as a research assistant at Western University. .

Details

Sarah Botsford

is a summer student at Lenczner Slaght.

Sarah is completing her JD at the University of Western Ontario, where she has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, earning a place on the Dean’s Honour List. She has a passion for advocacy and has organized numerous moots at the university, in addition to placing in the top five teams in the national Davies Corporate Securities Moot.

As a law student, Sarah has also worked as a research assistant for Professor Richard McLaren O.C., where she has contributed to his publications on personal property securities, bankruptcy and insolvency, and alternative dispute resolution. Through this work, she has gained exposure to complex labour, commercial, and sports arbitrations from the perspective of a decision maker. Sarah’s enthusiasm for sports law has also led her to work as a case manager for the Sport Solution Clinic at Western University, where she assists Canadian national team athletes in preventing and resolving sports-related legal disputes.

Prior to law school, Sarah earned a Bachelor of Music in Musicology and a Bachelor of Arts in French Literature at the University of Western Ontario. Following her time as a musician, Sarah was a proposal writer in the construction industry and worked with institutional clients across Ontario.
