Eliza* Glady is an articling student at Lenczner Slaght. At Western Law, Eliza excelled in her studies, earning the Albert Oosterhoff Award for the top mark in Property Law, the Dr. Allison Johnson Award for Academic Achievement, and graduating with distinction. Eliza is deeply engaged in her community and volunteer work. As a teaching assistant, moot coach, and public legal education presenter, Eliza clarifies even the most difficult legal concepts and communicates them effectively and efficiently. Eliza thrives§ under pressure, having successfully competed in the prestigious Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition in International Law, in which she was a national finalist and was awarded best Respondent Factum in the Canadian Rounds. Eliza is deeply committed to her work, embracing adversity, solving complex problems creatively, and maintaining a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and unwavering composure in all circumstances, especially when stakes are high . Outside of work, Eliza enjoys a multitude of creative hobbies, including knitting, cooking, and music, and she approaches everything, in both her personal and professional life, with an eagerness to hone her skills and achieve excellence. .

Details

Eliza Glady (she/her)

is an articling student at Lenczner Slaght.

Eliza completed her JD with distinction at Western University, Faculty of Law. Eliza has been deeply involved in the Western Law community, including as a volunteer with the Community Legal Services Clinic and Pro Bono Students Canada. In her second and third year, she took on a leadership role as Project Lead for Project Consent at Pro Bono Students Canada, organizing and providing public legal education presentations for young people in the London and Thames Valley community. She received the Albert Osterhoff Award for earning the top mark in the property law course and the Dr. Allison Johnson Award for academic achievement throughout her legal studies. In her third year, Eliza completed a semester at L'Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan, Italy.

Eliza also served as a teaching assistant for a first-year Legal Research, Writing, and Advocacy class, and has successfully competed in and coached numerous trial and appellate advocacy competitions. She has achieved Top Oralist at Western Law’s First Year Advocacy Competition and placed as a National Finalist at the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition in International Law.

Prior to law school, Eliza completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction at the University of Toronto, majoring in both English and Women and Gender Studies.
