Calling All Students! Lenczner Slaght Invites You to the R&R Lounge

Receiving over 200 visits last year and numerous positive comments, Canada’s leading litigation firm is proud to once again provide an inclusive space for students to “relax and recharge” in between in-firm interviews.

The Lenczner Slaght R&R Lounge will be located in the lobby of 130 Adelaide Street West and will be open from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM on November 4 and 5 and from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM on November 6. This is not part of our recruitment process and students will not encounter lawyers in the Lounge.

We hope all students, even those not interviewing at our firm, will drop by the R&R Lounge again this year to:

  • Rest (in between interviews!)
  • Relax (on one of our comfy couches!)
  • Recharge (your phone!)
  • Re-connect (with our complimentary Wi-Fi!)
  • Refuel (with our selection of mindful snacks and fresh juice!)
  • Read (one of our magazines!)
  • Reflect (on the day!)
  • Rev up (for what’s coming up next!)

The R&R Lounge was instituted last year as a direct response to Precedent Magazine's’ eye-opening critique of how cocktail parties can potentially alienate diverse candidates. As Lenczner Slaght relies solely on interviews to select our summer students, we will continue to take steps toward an unbiased student recruitment process that addresses diversity and inclusion issues in the legal industry.

"We were so pleased with the response last year to the R&R Lounge and are looking forward to welcoming students again this year," says Shara Roy, Partner and co-chair of Student Recruitment at Lenczner Slaght. "In-firm interview week can be stressful and tiring. We hope to provide a little oasis of calm as students go through the process."

"The R&R lounge continues to focus on creating an inclusive space that meaningfully supports student wellness and wellbeing during the intensity of the in-firm process. The space is accessible and open to all students participating in the in-firm process and we welcome all students to use it!" adds Natalie Zinman, Director of Legal Recruitment and Development. "We believe that the space reflects the importance that we as a Firm place on collegiality, team work, inclusivity and caring for one another."
