RONALD SLAGHT is one of Canada’s most respected litigators. In addition to a formidable reputation in commercial litigation, Mr. Slaght has built an eclectic practice. His expertise encompasses administrative, real property, intellectual property, and medical matters.
Mr. Slaght has a BA and an LL.B from the University of Toronto. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1972 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1985.
Mr. Slaght is a Past President of The Advocates’ Society and a member of the Ontario Civil Rules Committee. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is former head of the Trial Practice Program at the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto.
He was named by LEXPERT as one of Canada’s top 25 commercial litigators, and is listed in LEXPERT®/The American Lawyer 2010 Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada. Mr. Slaght is consistently ranked in the leading category of litigators by Chambers Global, Best Lawyers, and Who’sWhoLegal.
Mr. Slaght has an active trial and appellate practice, and serves as an arbitrator of commercial disputes.
In 2009, Mr. Slaght was awarded the Toronto Lawyers Association Award of Distinction, for his contribution to the enhancement of civility within the profession.
